Today I did a 45 minute inquiry on Curling. Back in the 1940's people used to go out side on a snowy day, the ice ponds would be frozen so the people would throw a stone on the frozen ice pond test if the ice was thick enough to play on. But now it's in the Olympic sports.
Curling is known as chess on ice. When one player from a team of eight and pushes the rock that weighs up to 38 to 40 pounds with a special type of broom or brush and it slides across a long sheet of ice to the target the closer you get to the middle of the target the more points you get for you're team, and the people that are at the other end have special type of shoes that allow them to not slip on the ice.
